Hi everyone! Choosing the loggers and interface meters here saw brand Heron. Not very well known here, but the reviews and comments are very complementing. Has anyone any experience of using their products? Want to purchase, but have some doubts. What problems come out while using? What impression?
You are right, Heron Instruments is not as much overhyped manufacturer as others in Europe and Asia, but it is a very good Canadian company that produces first class instruments for water control and monitoring. It is rather famous in Canada and USA, with rich model line and fair prices. Without any doubt, it is one of the best brands on the market.
Hi, yes, I have one of their stuff, H.OIL oil/water interface meter. Use it for years, and never ran into any troubles. Very solid thing, nothing broke, nothing had to be replaced, always accurate results. What makes me happy is that I need no extra help or support to work with it, everything is simple like a child’s toy.
And what about the materials? Marks on the tape, does it strain, how long lives the battery, probe, sensors? The price is really not very high, but I don’t want to pay for something that has to be fixed every week.
Donno about loggers or interface meters, I use two models of water level meters, I bought little dipper with 75 ft tape, and a year after decided to get one more – skinny dipper 500 ft length. Bought the second one because of the thinner probe. Both work perfectly, cannot remember any problems. Prices for repair parts are acceptable, does not let me down ever.
Heron Instruments make really good products. I use the Sm. Oil model, the interface meter, and I am completely happy with it. As for your questions, all materials and fitting is just ideal. All works very reliably. Most of all I like the simplicity of it. A child can use with little to no trouble.
Did anyone hear anything about the loggers?
Water level loggers manufactured by Heron Instruments, successfully competing with other models in quality, working capacities, technical reliability and accuracy, has one huge advantage – it is comparatively cheap. We would be glad to help you to choose the best model for you.
Why it is cheap? Is it worse than others?
No, of course not. Heron’s loggers are one of the best on the market. It is made of the robust and long-wearing materials, will work for a long time without extra service and maintenance. Users who have it report only positive impressions about working with these tools.
True. I use this dipperlog nano, with barlog. I am VERY satisfied. Very comfortable construction, easy usage. Can leave it in a borehole for months, even for years, does not need any assistance. Like it very much. Use it for a long time. No failures, all good. As for level meters, I had to replace the tape, as all marking was rubbed off.
How did you use it? I use my meters rather intensively, nothing wrong with my marking.
It scratched on walls of the pit. How do you avoid it?
there is the tape guide, it is easy to use it the way when it prevents the tape from damage.
With loggers – do I need to buy something additionally? Are there any accessories that I must have but are not in the set?
